United as one // Reviews and airplay

It is a very pleasure surprise to see our latest release "United As One" receive such positive reviews from sites like Culture Dub, and the E-dub Community as well as an unbelievable airplay from radio stations and radio shows all over the world, such as Meltin' Dub, Dubocalypse, Radio Pulsar, Lord Bitum's Show on Party Time Radio, High Reasoning Reggae Time, Real Roots (22 Tracks), Dr Strangedub, Selecta Jerry, Echo Beach Radio and many many more. The list is getting bigger day by day, so big we can barely keep track of it. Give thanks to all djs, selectors and radio stations supporting us!

The latest airplay was on Wednesday evening on the Versionist Village Radio. It was a blessing to listen to Roots Reality Hi-Fi Sound outta Italy playing the Red Star Martyrs riddim "Roots Rock Reggae" and the Med Dred riddim "Roots-o-phonic" with Sis J Warrior sending her conscious messages of Love and I-nity over the Jah Rootikal Steppers and Manwel T mixes ina dubplate style. Royal salute to brother Enzo and sister Jane each and every time!

[DPH017] Dubophonic meets Dubkey - United as one

[DPH017] Dubophonic meets Dubkey - United as one

The idea of collaborating with other netlabels has been long into the minds of Dub Thomas from Dubophonic and Manwel Tabone from Dubkey Records. Like a netlabel is a family of artists under a common roof, the two originators wanted to expand this family idea on the next level, creating an expanded family between the netlabels themselves. This is the first step for more collaboration between like-minded artists

The result of this collaboration is more than just a mere compilation of tracks. All the tunes have been written and produced from scratch, exclusive for this release and the riddims were written by the artists of both labels. The “raw” material was exchanged between the two netlabels, the vocal messages were added and then once again the tracks travelled back to the other side for the dubs and remixes. So basically every single track has been made with the contribution of artists from both sides in an organic and productive way.

The release consists of 4 riddims by Red Star Martyrs, Ashley, Med Dred and Negritage, all presented in 4 different cuts each. Vocalised by Zion Irie, Haji Mike & Singer Tempa and dubbed/mixed accordingly ina roots and culture style. Special mixes were included by Jah Rootikal Steppers and Manwel Tabone himself. Nuff respect Felix Dub Caravan for the live bass and guitars on the Roots-o-pohonic riddim (tracks 9 & 10). Last but definitely not least, the irie melodica of Mind’s Eye Dub on the Negritage riddim, blows away the badness and sends positive vibrations of I-nity and One-ness.

Dubroom reviews Dubophonic

Yes I. What a pleasant surprise it was indeed, to receive this great review by one of the biggest reggae and dub portals on the web. has expressed with the best words on our nelabel family. Massive respect to Messian Dread and his crew for the amazing work they do for so many years, always giving their best to the (conscious) reggae and dub community worldwide.

Dubroom reviews Dubophonic"With the Dubkey Netabel based on Malta, Dubophonic is the next step in a Mediterranean Roots Reggae and Dub take-over. Based in Cyprus and founded no earlier than June 2013, ... one thing is for certain: Dubophonic take their net label serious and so it should be. It's not just the amount of releases in a certain quality, it is the work on their website, liner notes and massive press feedback. Centered around Dub Thomas, but not limited to him. A look at the artist names reveal a variety of styles and genres, from heavyweight Dubwise to a more lighter variant, Dubophonic strives to cater to all lovers of (conscious) Reggae and Dub." Dubroom reviews Dubophonic / Ibel meets Med Dred & Dub Caravan
But the review does not stop here, it continues by showcasing two of our releases. The first one is a release from last year, "Love fi Life" by Ibel Campbell, Med Dred and Dub Caravan.

"Three vocals, four dubs: Love Fi Life is a joyous collaboration between Jamaican vocalist Ibel and Med Dred based on another island, namely that of Cyprus. The Mediterranean vibes are there, undeniably. The Jamaican vibe, too. There's even a UK Dub vibe coming in the form of a Dub by Dub Caravan. Get this one for some Ireness!" Read More

And just today one more review was posted on their site. This time a more recent one from this year released by Dubsynaticx, "Studio Dubs Part I".

"Whenever you see "Part One" in the title of an album, it's always intriguing: when it turns out to contain niceness, you know there's more of that niceness coming your way. Right? Presenting Part One of Studio Dubs, presenting Dubsynaticx, presenting some Dub Niceness. Yes I! ... Yes, the Dubroom should apologize to this Dub producer for not having discovered him before. Is his music that crucial, you might ask, and the answer is YES. It's definitely an addition to the variety in Eurodub and Roots land. We can get it thanks to the Idren at the Cyprus-based Dubophonic Net Label, responsible for this excellent April 2014 release." Read more
